Visiting shadows /Syv
For my solo title I was thinking at "Visiting Shadows".
For some parts of my solo, i don't really know what and who inspired the moves and where they come from. But for some other parts, especially the second half (which keeps changing, progressing, growing), i know i have been visiting by my dead grand-mother who i miss very much. she had a difficult and unhappy life yet i remember her good sense of humour. she suffered from her body size (big and tall for a woman) but in butoh dimensions she is light and has ever-shifting shapes!
I also met many shadows of mentally handicapped children whom i feel strongly connected with. I don't know where this special bound comes from and the reason for it, but it is definitely here. I am drawned and in a way fascinated by the way they move their body, the apparent absence of control of it, the slow motion of their fingers . it is like a dance to my eyes, a different way of communicating we often fail to see because it looks too different from us. but it does talk to me! and the look and lights and shadows in their eyes, it is such a mystery. i often wish i could be in their eyes and mind to see how they look at the world.
there were also a few other creatures that tried to show me their own way of talking and expressing themselves. they showed me their strength and sweetness .
I let them all used and moved my body, and it felt incredible. that's why i think of this title :Visiting Shadows".
